About the Owner
Leyland K Lyken Jr
Is a Technical Director with a lifelong background in event management, sound tech, set construction and theatre. His passion for DJing began at an early age and has evolved into a career that bridges engineering, creative design, and technical execution. After experiencing hearing loss at the age of nine due to a near-drowning incident, Leyland developed a heightened visual and technical awareness that continues to inform his work in production, staging, and large scale event management.
Leyland holds a degree in Manufacturing Engineering and has spent his professional career working in home improvement and technical jobs. His strong foundation in problem-solving, fabrication, and systems thinking allows him to approach projects with precision, safety, and efficiency.
In 2020, Leyland founded Lyken Professional Assembly, providing all types of home improvment projects to large-scale project builds. Lyken Assembly has earned a top pro badge in Thumbtack for 5 straight years and has 200 positive reviews. What began as in-home technical support evolved into a platform serving thousands of clients with structured, detail-driven solutions.
In 2022, Leyland expanded his professional focus to include Technical Direction, set construction and staging.. He brings together engineering discipline and creative collaboration to manage crews, oversee builds, coordinate technical systems, and support productions from concept through execution.
Outside of work, Leyland enjoys DJing, traveling, and spending time with family—creative outlets that continue to inspire his approach to live events and production design.
